A new year begins and with it, its share of trends to know.
Whether in terms of office furniture, architectural and decorative aspects, or even materials, upheavals are to be expected in the layout of the working environment.
The Deco Bureau blog has selected 5 trends to know for decorating your offices in 2019.
# 1 – The use of acoustic panels for the decoration of open spaces
In 2019, we will increasingly take into account the well-being of employees, and in particular their acoustic comfort. In fact, working in open space generates significant noise that disturbs teams, reduces their productivity and increases absenteeism.
This year, companies will use acoustic panels to reduce the resonance and hubbub of workspaces. It can be installed on walls, on ceilings but also between offices using movable walls.
Recent innovation, it will be possible to directly print images, logos and photos on the acoustic panels so that the latter participate in the decoration of the premises.
# 2 – More neutral offices for exceptional living spaces
In 2019, we will invest less in the design of workstations. We will choose functional, sober offices with colored acoustic partitions and clever systems to hide cables.
Thanks to this economy, we will be able to work better in reception, meeting rooms, living spaces, informal corners like at home, spaces for creativity or relaxation.
# 3 – The wood material is invited in office furnishings
Raw wood, OSB or varnished wood, several wood materials can be found in corporate offices. We will mainly use them to heat the rooms by integrating nature into the spaces.
They will be seen in reception areas, meeting rooms, cafeterias and more and more in informal work spaces.
# 4 – The arrival of the color of the year: the Living Coral
Like every year, Pantone chooses its color of the year for us. Particularly followed by designers, interior architects and decorators, this ranking sets the tone of the year for the choice of colorimetry in workspaces.
Living Coral, the color of the year 2019, will be present over the next 12 months, in most office layouts, in small touches: decorative items, acoustic partitions between desks, wall charts, etc.
# 5 – The plant boom in tertiary premises
Biophilic design, a planning method that aims to integrate natural elements into offices, will emerge in most offices.
The goal is to improve the well-being and creativity of employees by adding plants, plant elements, stones, wood … A rapidly growing trend!
