The name of the outstanding fashion designer Giorgio Armani is widely known in the world. The retail turnover of his Fashion Houses exceeds 4 billion euros. Armani clothes are preferred by such stars as George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise. However, today we will tell not about his professional activity, but about the first yacht he purchased – Mariu, built by Codecasa shipyard ten years ago. The 70-year-old Italian liked the serial 50-meter ships Codecasa 50.
According to the current international standards, the vessel qualifies as an ocean-going yacht with full autonomous equipment. This is a fast, elegant, comfortable vessel capable of long voyages far from the coast in waves of more than 4 meters. It is significant that as a talented person, Giorgio Armani not only made an acquisition, but put his talent and soul into it.
After all, Mariu belongs to the so-called semi-serial ships, which, firstly, have identical hulls and equipment, but secondly, they provide complete freedom for individual internal planning. Indeed, the entire design of its premises was developed personally by the maestro with the help of his private architect, Mr. Ortelli.
Judging by the fast lines, streamlining of the steel hull, the speed qualities of the yacht are obvious. Externally, the dark gray V-shaped hull has the grace of an attacking shark, as Codecasa 50 vessels are highly regarded by experts for their navigational characteristics. The flawless perfection of the outline of the case is achieved thanks to a special computer simulation. Leading speed and maneuverability characteristics among its type of ships have been achieved.
It should also be noted the comfortable structural design, sufficiently wide windows, contributing to maximum natural light, the connection of the interior with the surrounding seascape. The architecture of the ship’s control room has been thought out to the last detail. The special ergonomic captain’s wheelhouse seats are ideal for tracking, navigating instruments and providing enhanced visibility to the surrounding area.
The interior of the ship is designed to comfortably accommodate 12 guests, while creating the necessary conditions for the well-coordinated work of the crew, represented by ten sailors. The premises are characterized by elegance and stylish minimalism from Giorgio Armani. There is a lot of free space here. The size of the furniture is optimally matched to the size of the rooms.
The maestro chose wood and steel as the main materials for finishing the yacht’s space – for walls, floor coverings, furniture. Wooden parts are often found: wall coverings, tables, chairs. The color scheme uses harmoniously combined gray, soft brown, blue shades. Moreover, the latter adorns decorative elements, as well as accent details. For sleeping beds, the usual color combination of white with blue stripes is typical for sailors.
