In the heart of Paris, a 35 m2 apartment has a new look: Scandinavian decoration, spaces bathed in light and a cozy atmosphere give it pep’s! By enhancing the openings and restoring fluid circulation, the interior designer has created a cocoon accommodation … which exudes serenity and well-being. Visit.

Originally: an apartment of 35 m2 dilapidated and divided into several rooms. “The place was very dark. It was absolutely necessary to open the spaces” explains Gaspard Ronjat, interior designer for the Ronjat Poggioli agency, in charge of the project. Anxious to revalue their property, the owners did not hesitate to ask for it: “We advised and guided them. The owner nevertheless had a clear idea of what she wanted: to create a cozy and warm atmosphere” emphasizes the professional. Removing partitions, upgrading joinery or even creating a small cocoon room, are all concrete missions carried out to transform the premises. A two and a half month project that has indeed transformed the small Parisian apartment.

When interior designer Gaspard Ronjat discovers the apartment, the observation is clear: the place is poorly arranged and the apartment dilapidated. “If today the living room is bright and open, this was not the case before the construction site. There were several small rooms here, cramped and very dark” remembers the professional. The partitions have therefore been removed to free up space and restore fluid circulation in the living room.

The openings are valued. The light penetrates easily into the room and brings a warm note to the whole. The place simply breathes. Custom-made blinds have also been designed for the windows. They give the living room a touch of poetry and softness. Like an envelope of silk.

The emphasis here has been on optimizing space. “The storage is everywhere. More or less visible. On the kitchen side, we used a white cabinet decorated with wood, here and there” explains the interior designer. We also played on the style and shape of the handles. Wood enhances the furniture: it blends with the contemporary decor. A decor also highlighted by a line of light, located just above the worktop.

The kitchen is separated from the living room by white tiling. The coating follows the linear of the room. Added to this is the creation of a false ceiling just above the kitchen. It is the same width as the tile facing it. The result is a warm and cozy atmosphere. The recessed spotlights on the installation reinforce this idea. Other arrangements: storage has been installed across the width of the room. They also climb to the ceiling (2.80 meters). Finally, a dressing room has been fitted out just at the entrance to the living room (on the left in the photo).

The floor – solid oak parquet – links the different spaces and brings a warm touch to the living room. The white walls, meanwhile, catch the light and create a cozy atmosphere. The lights, which run throughout the living room, enhance, here and there, the coverings and contemporary furniture: between the openings, above the living room table or on the desk side (on the right in the photo).

“We opted for an interior design which is inspired by the Scandinavian spirit. The kitchen table, the seats or the pendant lights, white with a few touches of wood, recall this idea” notes the interior designer. Design tip: Tam-Tam stools breathe a pop into the decor and echo furniture from the 1970s.

You only need to take a few steps to land in the living room. The sofa is adorned with a duck blue velvet fabric. Visually, it is he who delimits the kitchen space from the living room. The low tables, like smooth and shiny pebbles, boost the decor and create a mineral atmosphere. Finally, the materials mix to form a nice graphic table. The square leather pouf and the wooden slats, for example, propel the gaze towards the openings and give a linear side to the living room. The coffee tables or the different light sources present (next to the fireplace, in a salad bowl) bring roundness and softness to the whole. Last detail: the fireplace has been completely plastered. It was previously covered with red bricks …

A library has been fitted to the right of the fireplace. To enhance this reading corner, the owner decided not to overload the shelves and to decorate them with decorative objects: sculptures, lights or even salad bowls.

To the left of the fireplace this time, an office space has been created. The shelves are superimposed and energize this part of the living room. Here again, the decoration is sober and refined. It does not overload the walls.

To the right of the office, a small staircase of a few steps provides access to the bedroom. A sober and chic bedroom which benefits from the light from the living room and the bathroom (a second door faces that of the living room). The light is therefore through. Finally, a natural sisal floor was laid. It helps create that cocoon effect desired by the owners.

A low wall of a few centimeters has been created at the headboard, framed by two retro bedside lamps. Finally, on each side of the bed, we notice the (discreet) presence of two large cupboards: “here again it was necessary to optimize the space and create storage. Storage that almost disappears in the space”, explains the architect of inside.

The bathroom uses the same decorative codes as the rest of the apartment: evanescent light, light wood furniture and white coverings (floor and walls) to enhance the space.

“We wanted to keep the old style of the toilets” explains Gaspard Ronjat. A retro touch that gives character and charm to this small pond. Earthenware, on the other hand (white rectangular tiles), gives a graphic look to the bathroom. All the coverings thus form a bubble of serenity and well-being.
